The incident, reported on April 7, began with a written complaint from Bilal Ahmad Ganaie of Ratnipora, alleging that an unknown driver had forcibly taken his daughter and her classmate, both aged 10, while they were on their way to school.

Following the complaint was registered under section 137(2) BNS. During investigation, statements were recorded before a court, where the girls and their parents confirmed that no abduction had taken place. The girls had walked from Ratnipora to Nadoo and made up the story to avoid school.

Police reviewed CCTV footage, which confirmed that no such vehicle was involved. The fabricated account was later admitted by both the girls and their families.
