Government forces on Friday suddenly cordoned off the business center of Srinagar, Lal Chowk and started Cordon and Search Operation (CASO), sources said.

Witnesses said that forces laid Cardon from Ghanta Ghar to Court Road area and started searches triggering panic among people.
They said that besides frisking, the commuters and pedestrians were also asked to produce the identity cards.
The search operation was going on when reports last came in.
