SRINAGAR: Security forces on Wednesday evening recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from a natural cave in the Bari Back area of the Shahdara Sharief sector, which falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Thanamandi in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that the recovery was made around yesterday evening during a search operation conducted by troops of 61 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 43 RR.
During the operation, the forces also recovered some eatable items from the cave along with the IED, they said.
They added that a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team from District Police Lines (DPL) has been rushed to the spot to carry out further necessary action and safely dispose of the explosive.
Cognizance of the matter has been taken. (KNC)
