A former Border Security Force trooper who was injured on July 31 after being shot at by unknown gunmen at Kaksarai area here in Srinagar city succumbed to injuries on Saturday.

A police official told GNS that former BSF trooper Nazir Ahmad Shah of Maidan Pora Lolab Kupwara today succumbed to injuries at SMHS Hospital here in Srinagar.

Nazir who after retiring from BSF some three months back had joined a private security wing as an officer, the official said. “He was posted as In charge officer of the security wing at SMHS hospital”.

 Meanwhile, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper Thursday died of heart attack in Srinagar city.

Constable Rakesh Kumar, 37, of 32 Bn of CRPF suffered a cardiac arrest during duty near civil secretariat here, a police official said.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead, he said.

Kumar belonged to Haryana and his body has been sent to his native village, the official said.
