Heavy deployment of state force was seen around some roads leading to the city centre Lal Chowk on Monday morning. Security was beefed up on the foot bridge and on the Munawar road, the locals said.

“I was taken to surprise while crossing the foot bridge in morning. Nobody had given a strike call nor there was any function scheduled for the day,” said a local.

Meanwhile, the police spokesperson, Manoj Sheeri informed Kashmir Life over phone, “Security has been put up at certain place as the PDP is going to hold a ‘peace march’ in Lal Chowk today.”

Pertinently PDP, the main opposition party is going to hold a ‘peace march’ over the escalating tension on the Line of Control (LoC).
