Farooq Ahmad Shah, Monday took over as District Development Srinagar, Srinagar.
Shah with a track record of excellent services as Director tourism and DC Islamabad has also served as CEO Gulmarg Development Authority and MD Cable Car Corporation. He spearheaded the campaign for revival of tourism in the state and played a pivotal role in developing the tourism infrastructure including setting up and face lifting of the Gulmarg Gondola , Royal Springs Golf Course, Pahalgam Golf Course, Nigeen club, Peerzoo Restaurant etc
During his 10 month tenure as DC Islamabad, he was appreciated for making the administration accessible and accountable to the public. He took keen interest in developing Sherbagh park in a modern way which was hailed by all the public quarters and people at large.
Shah while setting goals for his stint as DC Srinagar, said that accessibility and accountability of administration towards public will be his priority and the administration along with SMC and SDA will work hard to regain and retain the pristine glory of Srinagar city.
He said that the gap between public and administration will be removed and the administration’s top priority will be to redress peoples’ problems. He said that the smooth and speedy traffic flow at HMT ann Pantha Chowk will be ensured and it will be his first priority.
Meanwhile people from trade, commerce, and industry and tourism fraternity hailed the decision of the government for placing Farooq A Shah as DDC Srinagar.
