REVEALED: Bhim Singh informed the apex court that four PaK residents arrested around Poonch in September 1965 are still in custody in J&K. A probe was announced and he was asked to bring more facts to the court. In another case Ms Gafoora was traced in central jail Srinagar without a case after putting in five years. She was arrested for crossing LoC illegally but is not being repatriated.

QUASHED: High Court quashed the PSA detention of 16-year-old Tawseef Hussain Bhat, a minor.  Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar saw non application of mind in his arrest. A resident of Shopian, Tawseef was arrested on December 1, 2010.

SURVIVED: Actor Ranbir Kapoor skipped safe in an accident during shooting of Rockstar at Pahalgam, when his snowmobile bike skidded off the track. The stunt stunned everybody when his snowmobile skidded out of control but somehow skipped a crevice.

DIED: Journalist Ajit Bhattacharjea, who flew with the Indian army soon after the accession passed away at 87. At the peak of militancy, he authored a book Kashmir: The Wounded Valley.

DIRECTED: High Court directed army to pay compensation of Rs 10 lakhs in the disappearance case of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar who was 20 years old when arrested on April 13, 1997 by 20 Grenadiers. He was a resident of Bemina. Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifulla directed the landmark judgement.

VISITED: A 10-member delegation of Delhi-based Centre for Policy Analysis (CPA), headed by Swami Agnivesh visited Kashmir to indicate they may approach the apex court against the killing of 118 people during 2010 unrest. They had close door meetings with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Bilal Gani Lone, G N Bhat, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Sajad Gani Lone besides organizing a seminar in Kupwara.

RECOVERED: Cops in Kulgam have seized 3816 bottles of high-cost wine being imported into the district in a potato truckload. A day after they also seized a huge quantity of Fukhi poder.

ARRESTED: Police arrested two teachers in Poonch for allegedly harassing girl students. They were identified as Gulzar Hussain of Mankote Higher Secondary School and Nazir Ahmed of a middle school.

RECOVERED: Police recovered body of a missing college student Khursheed Wani, 19 from Murran belt. Resident of Babihara, he was carrying a good amount at the time of missing. Preliminary investigations suggest murder at the hands of drug mafia.
APPOINTED: Professor Neelofer  Khan was appointed new director for Directorate of Distance  Education, Kashmir University. She replaced Prof Shafeeqa Parveen who had completed her tenure.

SELECTED: GMC lecturer Dr Muhammad Salim Khan was selected by Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), Philadelphia for international medical education leadership fellowship programme at FAIMER centre, Coimbatore. He is the first such candidate selected for two-year fellowship.

SELLING: A Mumbai businessman Swarn Salaria is selling over 52 kanals of land having a five-star hotel “White Orchid” at Katra town for only Rs 35 lakh to Harbans Singh. The apparent distress sale followed after the government initiated action against Salaria for getting a fake state subject certificate.

TREATING: Srinagar doctor A N Safaya is heading the team of 27 doctors treating godman Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.The 86-year-old Baba is on ventilator and renal-support system for the past many days. Safaya who is with Baba for 20 years heads Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences as well.

TRACED: After three weeks, the body of 10-year-old Omar Farooq Sheikh was fished out from the Jehlum near Sumbal. A Class IV student from Zainakdal, he slipped into the river after being chased by stray dogs outside his home.
