SRINAGAR: Six food business operators were found violating food safety provisions during an inspection drive conducted by the Food Safety Team in Anantnag district, officials said.
The inspection focused on compliance with prescribed food safety and hygiene standards at food establishments across the district.
During the drive, officials checked the use of synthetic food colours, wrapping or serving food in printed newspapers, repeated use of cooking oil and overall sanitary and hygienic conditions at the establishments.
Two food samples were also collected during the inspections and sent to a laboratory for detailed analysis.
The six food business operators found in violation of provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act and the rules and regulations have been proceeded against under the relevant provisions of law.
The inspection was aimed at enforcing food safety standards and checking practices that could pose risks to consumers.
