The 16-year-old boy killed in Tral at the hands of forces during yesterday’s clashes was the son of a retired army man, his family said on Thursday.
Mohammad Younus Sheikh son of Abdul Khaliq Sheikh was killed after forces fired pellets at him during clashes near the encounter site at Gulab Bagh area of Tral in Pulwama district.
Three militants were killed in the gunfight between militants and forces.
“Yes, I have served in the Indian army for more than 20 years,” Khaliq told media men at his home in Saimoo village of Tral today.
He said he has retired from the service a couple of years back and was now working in a bank.
