As many as 169 incidents of militant related violence cases were reported in Jammu and Kashmir till October this year in which 89 militants were killed, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday.
Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary, said 37 security personnel were also killed in these incidents, media reports said this evening.
There were 173 incidents of militant related violence cases in the same period last year in which 86 militants and 31 security personnel were killed.
“The number of militant incidents has decreased and number of militants killed has increased during 2015 till October as compared to corresponding period of 2014,” he said in a written reply.
