SOG man was ruthlessly thrashed by people in Central Kashmir’s Kangan town when he allegedly tried to molest a girl present at a tailors shop. Agitated youth tore his uniform and beat him to pulp while scores of people assembled at Kangan market and resorted to stone pelting demanding stern action against the guilty cop.
Police sources told CNS that an SOG man (spo63/G) Kifayat Ali Chodhri, deputed at Police Station Kangan was allegedly seen molesting a girl at Baniparam Wangat Kangan by some youth. The agitated youth caught hold of SOG man and thrashed him mercilessly.
Youth resorted to stone pelting and demanded immediate arrest of the erring policeman. Police swung into action and arrested the cop.
Sub Divisional Police officer Kangan Zulfqar Ahmed Shaheen told CNS that they are looking looking into the matter. “The policeman was present at a tailor shop when a girl entered into the shop. People took it otherwise and started beating the policeman. Even the tailor told us that policeman did not misbehaved with the girl. Still we are looking into the matter,” he said.
