Family of the missing south Kashmir’s mother-daughter on Thursday denied police statement saying that the duo has been traced.

On Seventh of February a lady along with her two-year-old daughter went missing from Nambal village of Islamabad district.

The family of duo filed a missing complaint in Mattan police station.

However, on Thursday a police press release claimed that they have “traced the missing mother and daughter.”

The statement said that they were traced after concerned SHO launched a “manhunt”.

However, husband of the lady contacted Kashmir Life and refuted the statement.

“They have not been handed over to me and police is telling me that they are yet to be traced,” he said.

When contacted, SHO Mattan was caught unaware of the police claim.

“I am the concerned officer and we have not found them,” he said, “I don’t know who has issued the statement.”

Superintendent of Police, Islamabad Zubair Khan refuted the report saying, “no they have not been found.”
