SRINAGAR: The second day of the autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly concluded after nearly five hours of proceedings on Tuesday, with Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourning the House until Thursday.
The House took up a resolution seeking exemption from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement for teachers appointed before January 1, 2019.
Minister for Education Sakina Itoo said the matter was important and required detailed discussion in the Assembly before the resolution could be considered for passage.
Following the Minister’s intervention, members agreed that the resolution should first be discussed in the House.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather subsequently adjourned the proceedings until Thursday.
The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly began in Srinagar on September 21, 2026, and is scheduled to continue until September 30.
