SRINAGAR: In a series of official notifications issued on Wednesday, Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, announced the constitution of four vital committees of the House for the period ending March 31, 2026. These include the Committee on Environment, Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Committee on Privileges, and Committee on Petitions.

The Committee on Environment will be chaired by Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami and comprises ten other members: Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Rajiv Jasrotia, Dr Sajjad Shafi, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad, Zafar Ali Khatana, Khurshied Ahmed, Mushtaq Guroo, Irshad Rasool Kar, Yudhvir Sethi, and Darshan Kumar.
The Committee on Subordinate Legislation will be headed by Hasnain Masoodi. Its members include Reyaz Ahmad Khan, Hilal Akbar Lone, Shabir Ahmad Kullay, Satish Kumar Sharma, Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Rajeev Kumar, Irfan Hafiz Lone, and Dr Rameshwar Singh.
For the Committee on Privileges, Nizam ud din Bhat has been appointed as Chairman. The other nominated members are Vikram Randhawa, Riyaz Ahmad Khan, Salman Sagar, Sheikh Ahsan Ahmed (Pardesi), Javaid Riyaz, Javaid Iqbal, Dr Narinder Singh Raina, and Dr Bharat Bhushan.
The Committee on Petitions will be led by Pirzada Farooq Ahmed Shah as Chairman. The committee also includes Mushtaq Guroo, Salman Sagar, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, Mian Mehar Ali, Vijay Kumar, and Thakur Randhir Singh.
All nominations have been made under the relevant provisions of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The notifications have been circulated to relevant constitutional offices, senior government functionaries, and media establishments for wide dissemination and official record.
