Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat Conference Sunday said that it fears its senior leaders may be booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).

“According to the reports received, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has learned that to avenge the announcement of ‘Million March’ program by Hurriyat Conference which badly exposed the claims of Indian rulers, the state administration and government are planning to book many pro-freedom leaders and activists particularly Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Mehraj-ud-din, Mohammad Yousuf Mujahid, Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Abdul Gani Bhat, Rayees Ahmad Mir, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Pandith, Nisar Ahmad Palhallan, Hafiz Abdul Ahad under the PSA like black law and to detain them in jails for long period.”

Terming “this proposal as political vengeance”, Geelani said, “actually Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has to appease his RSS masters in Nagpur so that he can be reckoned as a loyal employee and he can reap the best benefits of his loyalty and for that purpose he can go to any extent.”

A Hurriyat (g) statement quoting Geelani said, “Mufti Sayeed wants to transfer the power to his next generation which can’t be possible without the blessings of RSS and the Sangh Parivar and Mufti Sahab will do anything for that.” “The PSA (Public Safety Act) was formed by Late Shaikh Mohammad Abdullah in 1978 which was meant for the forest smugglers but since then this black law has been abundantly used as an oppressive tool to suppress the peaceful voices of the pro-freedom people in Kashmir and according to a human rights organization report about twenty thousand pro-freedom people has been detained under this inhuman law PSA since 1990 till date.”

He said that although the 2011 report of Amnesty International completely exposed the “hollow democratic claims of India but the rulers of this country have closed their eyes and they are living in a fool’s paradise”. However, he said, “despite all these atrocities and barbarism, India miserably failed in changing the hearts and minds of the Kashmiri people.”

Geelani further said, “the position of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and other people of his tribe have got badly exposed before the public that they are not more than a loyal employees of RSS and BJP who take no time in implementing the orders of their masters.”

“The continuous imprisonment of Hurriyat Chairperson and detention of other pro-freedom leaders in different jails will vindicates our stand that ‘instead of a public representative, Mufti Sahab is a loyal employee of New Delhi’ and the actions of Mufti Sayeed will confirmed it and he and his other associates will soon find themselves isolated from the Kashmiri nation,” the Hurriyat (g) statement said.

Meanwhile, expressing his deep shock, sorrow and grief over the death of a pro-freedom youth Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bilal Kakpora resident of Lelhar Kakpora, Geelani paid rich tributes to the deceased.

“The deceased was a dedicated and honest activist of the freedom struggle who despite spending 10 precious years of his life in Jails, have suffered a lot in the present struggle. He had been subjected to the worst kind of custodial torture and was recently released from the prison,” Geelani said.

“The frequent arrests and custodial tortures caused him many aliments and after his release from the jail, his health condition was not keeping well and he finally left this world,” Geelani said.

Expressing his deep sympathy and condolence with the family of Farooq Ahmad Dar, Geelani prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and patience for his family to bear this loss.

On the directions of Geelani Sahab a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation which included Dr G M Ganai, Abdul Hameed Magray, Syed Mohi-ud-din Andrabi, Umar Adil Dar, Rameez Raja and other activists Sunday visited the residence of Late Bilal Kakpora and extended condolence message of Geelani Sahab to his family.

Meanwhile another delegation comprises of Hurriyat Conference (g) General Secretary Haji Ghulam Mohammad Sumji and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president Islamabad Mir Hafizullah today visited Botengue Islamabad where they enquired about the health condition of Udhampur attack victim Showkat Ahmad Dar who was burnt by the RSS backed goons recently.
