Garg chaired a meeting to review the status of the projects and measures required to accelerate their completion. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, SSP Traffic Rural, Project Director NHAI and officers from Roads and Buildings, Public Health Engineering and KPDCL.

NHAI officials briefed the meeting on the impediments affecting execution, including the status of land acquisition and compensation disbursement, demolition of government and private structures, shifting or alteration of establishment structures, utility shifting, court cases and tree felling.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal to constitute a joint team comprising the ADC Ganderbal, Tehsildar, NHAI and the contractor to facilitate the handover of acquired land to the executing agency by Tuesday.

He also directed NHAI to take possession of the greenfield land parcels, noting that no issues had been reported by the agency in this regard.

Garg further directed officials to complete documentation of private structures and demolish all such structures by Saturday to eliminate bottlenecks and black spots affecting the project.

He ordered phased felling of Chinar and Walnut trees falling within the road alignment, strictly as per the prescribed procedure.

The Divisional Commissioner also directed NHAI officials to undertake immediate maintenance of existing roads in Ganderbal that had been damaged due to the movement of project vehicles.
