Reacting over the incident of stone pelting on a school bus in Shopian, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah today said that the amnesty granted to stone pelters was to encourage “reasonable behaviour” but some “goons” are determined to use the amnesty as an opportunity to pelt more stones.
Taking to a social networking site Omar wrote: “The amnesty granted to stone-pelters was meant to encourage more reasonable behaviour but some of these goons are determined to use the opportunity given to them to just pelt more stones.”
Meanwhile, PDP’s youth president replied to Omar’s tweet saying that one miscreant’s incident doesn’t defeat their resolve for the transformation of misguided youth.
“One miscreants incident doesn’t defeat our resolve for transformation of misguided youth.Sad u always try to generalise&oppose Amnesty.If we don’t forgive them-do we need to kill/wage war against them? Mainstreaming youth isn’t only govt job but a collective effort, Parra wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, two minor students were injured after a school bus they were travelling in came under stone pelting at Zavoora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Earlier, SSP Shopian Shalender Kumar Mishra said that the school bus of Rainbow International school was attacked by “miscreants” with stones near Zavoora village.
In the incident, two students suffered injuries and were taken to nearby hospital where from a seriously injured student namely Rehan Gorsai (2nd Class student) referred to Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment.
