While justifying the protests in Delhi and other cities of India over the gang rape of young girl, Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani has said that it is now time to see how administration reacts.

“It is to see whether they fire upon the protesters or slap PSA and detain them as is the common practice in Jammu and Kashmir,” said the conglomerate in statement released on Monday.

Terming stone pelting as tool in the hands of deprived people, Hurriyat in its statement said the people, in order  to  show  their resentment   and anger, resort to stone pelting and added it to be a universal.

Whenever the Kashmiri people protest against the Indian occupation and their repressive measures, the forces assassinate them and go for their hunt and are detained for one or other pretext. The forces in order to exhibit their high handedness  play  folly and   blame ISI or Hizb ul Mujahidin or LeT militant outfits,” said spokesman of conglomerate, Ayaz Akbar.

“On the other hand all including the Rahul Gandhi, the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi  and even Prime minister Man Mohan Singh  express their solidarity with the protesters and accord  their protest as a welcome step,” he added.

Accusing India of taking people of J&K for ride, spokesman said that the odd treatment for Kashmiris confirms this perception that Indian authorities take them for ride and hence the people are right when they say that they are no more than slaves and Indian authorities can go to any extent.

While criticizing the state police, spokesman said that the Indian forces as a rule are deployed to continue the illegal occupation  of India but it shameful that  the local police personals brutally  killed  hundreds of youth in 2010 and 2011.
“This heinous act of theirs is highly deplorable that they did it for petty interests and  for little monetary gains,” he said.
Citing the example of Zahida, who was recently arrested, spokesman said, “brave  police of ours arrested her for contrived intention to murder case and involved her even in stone pelting during a protest against the murder of two youth in Islamabad.”

While criticizing  the role of print and electronic media  of India, he said,“these institutions formulate the bias reporting while as on the other hand they give full coverage and even broadcast the special bulletins   with regards to the protests but they close their eyes and do not bother to furnish the fair reports when it is the case of Kashmir.”
