Terming the arrest of separatist  leadership under the garb of the elections as totally undemocratic and cause of extreme concern, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday condemned the crackdown, raids, and rounding-up of resistance leaders by the authorities.

In a statement to KNS Mirwaiz while paying rich tributes to Imam Hussain (RA) and other martyrs of the battle of Karbala who sacrificed their lives on the path of truth and righteousness, stated that the struggle between Hussainyat and Yazidiyat continues till date. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) along with his family members preferred martyrdom to surrender before the tyrannical forces.

The Hurriyat (M) Chairman said Kashmiris would never give up their fight for righteousness and freedom till they achieve it.  He said faith and continuity of the struggle till reaches its success is the first principal of the Hussainyat.

Mirwaiz said the blood spilled in the deserts of Karbala around 1500 hundred year ago would continue to spread the message of struggle towards the right path. He stated that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions has set up an example of righteousness, truthfulness, and humanity before us. He said the Karbala reflects that how the right wins over wrong.

Mirwaiz said Karbala taught the whole humanity to rise against suppression and oppression. He said that Karbala also shows that those people who sacrifice their lives on the path of truth ultimately win.

Mirwaiz said Karbala teaches that people should never forsake principles for pecuniary benefits and other personal interests.

The Hurriyat (M) Chairman condemned the government action against Ashura precisionists in several areas of Srinagar. He termed the government decision of imposing curfew to restrict the march of mourners and common people as clear case of ‘frustration.’
