The continuous internet suspension in Kashmir, especially in south parts, has been disrupting study and work of students and businessmen badly.

The internet services in south Kashmir was blocked soon after the killing of seven civilians and three militants in Sirnoo area of Pulwama district. In Srinagar, the low-speed internet was restored on yesterday evening but was later barred again this morning.

As the internet has become an influential tool, people in south Kashmir mostly students and traders have been suffering immensely in wake of internet suspension. “It has become a norm in South Kashmir for authorities to add to the woes of common people by either blocking the social media sites or internet services,” said a postgraduate student from south Kashmir.

“With a number of competitive examinations coming up in next few days, students from south districts struggle to work around the continuous internet bans,” he added.
