Police on Saturday said that a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant was arrested from Rathsun village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district late last night.

Senior police official said that acting on a specific information, Rathson village was cordoned off in a joint operation by 2 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG Beerwah.

The suspected militant has been identified as Abdul Hameed Nath R/O Peth Zanegam area of Beerwah.

“An AK-56 rifle, two magazines, 84 rounds of ammunition and a Chinese grenade were recovered from his possession.”
