Another weapon-snatching incident surfaced in South Kashmir Friday when a suspected militant showed up at Kulgam’s Court Complex, snatched weapon from a guarding cop there and fled.
The incident happened when a constable namely Zahid Ali posted outside the gate of Court Complex was on duty inside a sand bunker. Eye-witnesses said a youth, believed to be a suspected militant entered the bunker, threw chilli powder on cop, snatched his weapon and fled.
As the word spread, a posse of police party arrived on the spot and launched a manhunt.
Lately, weapon-snatching tend has emerged as a new tactic in Kashmir’s new-age militancy.
