Suspected militants have abducted three policemen and a brother of a cop from two villages in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on early Friday morning.

Reports said that suspected militants abducted one policeman, brother of a cop from their houses in Kapran village of Shopian around 7: 00 am.

In another incident, two cops were kidnapped by a group of suspected militants from their respective homes in Batagund village of Shopian.

An official said that the militants abducted three Special Police Officers (SPOs) and a civilian during raids in two villages of the district.

Those abducted were identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchey and Kuldeep Singh – both residents of Batgund Shopian, and Nisar Ahmad Dhobi and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, residents of Kapran.

Fayaz Ahmad is the brother of a policeman.
