A day after the former High Court Judge, Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani filed an application in the state High Court for rehearing the Talaaq verdict, the Kashmir High Court Bar Association along with six other organizations moved a joint application to the state High Court appealing for a review of the verdict on Friday.

Apart from HCBA, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees, Anjumane Shar e Shian, Ittihadul Muslimeen, Mutahida Majlis- e- Amal and Himayatul Islam are the other organization which jointly applied before the court for a review of the judgment.
The application has been moved through the HCBA President Advocate Zafar Qureshi.

The applicants asked the court not to interfere in religious matters which could only be decided and interpreted by ullema (clergy) and Islamic scholars.Advocate Zafar Qureshi confirmed  moving the application before the High Court.
