SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Police in Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Prosecution Department, organised a three-day workshop on UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) cases at the District Police Office in Ganderbal.

The workshop was conducted to familiarise investigating officers with the latest techniques and standard practices aimed at expediting investigations and ensuring convictions in UAPA cases, as stated by a police spokesperson in a statement.

DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal, along with Sr PO DPO Ganderbal Abdul Aziz Zaindari, were in attendance at the event. The workshop was also attended by SHOs, IC PPs, IOs, and other senior officers from District Ganderbal.

During the workshop, the presiding officer emphasised the importance of adopting the latest technologies and standard practices to expedite UAPA cases, particularly in terms of collecting electronic evidence, seizure, attachment, and forfeiture of property. He further urged gazetted officers to supervise the investigation officers to expedite the investigation of these cases.

The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance investigative skills and achieve higher conviction rates in UAPA cases, the statement added. (KNO)
