SRINAGAR: In a shocking incident, three casual laborers were rescued and rushed to the hospital after they attempted self-immolation at the Botanical Garden in Kokernag, situated in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

Prompt intervention by onlookers prevented a tragedy as the trio was swiftly taken to SDH Kokernag and subsequently referred to GMC Anantnag, according to official sources.

The individuals have been identified as Zakir Hussain Shakshaz (30) and Arshid Ahmad Itoo (33), both residents of Bidder Kokernag, along with Hilal Ahmad Tantray, a resident of Watnard. All three laborers, reportedly associated with the Floriculture Department, resorted to this extreme act allegedly due to a transfer dispute.
