SRINAGAR: At least three workers are reported to have been washed away in the Jhelum River during a demolition project on an old bridge in Uri, Baramulla district.
Locals informed GNS that several workers were involved in the demolition work on an old bridge in Mohura, Uri. During this time, it is believed that the trio fell into the Jhelum river.
“The concern about them falling into the river (Jhelum) has escalated as some individuals claim to have witnessed the incident near the site,” a local resident said.
A police official said that they are evaluating the situation. “We cannot provide much certainty at the moment.”
