SRINAGAR: Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Monday issued a detailed advisory ahead of a mega padyatra to be led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Pulwama on May 19 under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”.
According to the advisory issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Kashmir, vehicular movement from Wagum Circular Road Crossing to Banoora Crossing via Murran and Rajpora Chowks will remain suspended from 4 am to 4 pm during the event.
The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel within Pulwama town during the programme and to follow the designated diversion routes to ensure smooth traffic flow.
As per the advisory, traffic bound for Shopian and Pulwama from Srinagar, Kakapora and Pampore will be diverted via Peaks Crossing through Old Circular Road towards Shopian and Littar areas.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Nowgam, Neva and Wanpora towards Shopian and Pulwama will be diverted through New Circular Road via the Murran–Kellar–Rajpora route.
Traffic heading towards Srinagar from Shopian and Pulwama will be diverted at Banoora Crossing via both Old and New Circular Roads.
The advisory further stated that ambulances and other medical emergency vehicles heading towards District Hospital Pulwama will be permitted movement only via Murran Chowk.
The padyatra led by the Lieutenant Governor forms part of the “Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyaan”, aimed at raising awareness against drug abuse, promoting rehabilitation, and mobilising public participation against substance trafficking.
