In connection with Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations, the Traffic Police department took review of the arrangements for plying of traffic to ferry devotees from various areas of the Valley to Dargah Hazratbal and back at a meeting of officers here Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, the Superintendent of Police Traffic City, Srinagar said that the department has made elaborate arrangements for the devotees to ensure their hassle free and safe travel from their localities to Dargah Hazratbal and for this purpose one way traffic system shall strictly ensured.

He said that from January 25 to February 1, 2013, the Traffic Police department will provide buses from SRTC bridge to Hazratbal via Ikhwan Crossing, Police Station Khanyar, Bohri Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara Chowk, Hawal, Shree Bhat, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan and Lal Bazar.

Similarly, the devotees of various districts of the Valley which include Baramulla, Kupwara, Handwara, Bandipora and Budgam shall be provided the route passing through Tengpora Bye Pass, Bemina Bye Pass, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noor Bagh, Eidgah Crossing, Alamgari Bazar, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan, Lal Bazar and finally the Dargah Hazratbal, while as the devotees of Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Awantipora shall proceed to Dargah Hazratbal via Pantha Chowk, Sonwar, Gupkar, Foreshore and Nishat.

On the return, the buses carrying the devotees of Lal Chowk, Budgam, Baramulla and Kupwara shall ply via National Institute of Technology, Ashai Bagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khalifapora, Nowpora bridge and Khayam Chowk (right), however, the buses heading towards North Kashmir will be diverted at Khalifapora towards Peer Dastigeer Sahib Khanyar, Sumkachbal, Police Station Khanyar, Nalamar road and Qamarwari for their respective destinations.

On the return, the vehicles bound for Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and Awantipora shall have to follow Foreshore Nishat, Gupkar, Sonwar Bazar and Pantha Chowk route.
