Srinagar

Train services have been suspended in South Kashmir as a precautionary measure on Sunday following the killing of two militants during a gunfight between militants and government forces in two separate districts of south Kashmir.

“We have suspended train services in South Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

However, trains continued to chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir as per schedule, officials said.

A militant Rouf Bashir Khanday was killed and his associate Imran Rashid was arrested alive after a gunfight at Brunty Dialgam while two gunfights are going on at Kachdora and Dragad Sugan where one militant was killed and three army men have been injured.
