SRINAGAR: Two Army men and an unidentified militant were killed on Saturday in a gunfight in the Chermarg area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official said the gunfight erupted after 1RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the area after inputs about the presence of militants.
He said two army men wounded in the exchange of fire succumbed at a hospital.
A militant was also killed in the firefight while more were believed to be trapped inside the cordoned off area.
The slain army men were identified as Santosh Yaadev and Sipahi Romit Chauhan.
