Army claimed to have killed two militants in an encounter at Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district last night.
A senior defence ministry official said that a group of militants tried to sneak in this side along Line of Control (LoC) near Kanzalwan in Gurez.
However, the troops manning the fence foiled their attempt which resulted into an encounter.
During the firefight, two militants have been killed, he said, adding the bodies of the militants along with two AK-47 rifles were recovered from the site.
The official further said that search operation in the area is still going on.
