Two militants were killed at a village in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir, Saturday police said.
“Two militants have been killed in the encounter which started early morning,” police spokesman told Kashmir Life.
He added that the identification of the killed militants was being ascertained.
An encounter had broken out between government forces and militants in north Kashmir.
Sources said that on specific information about the presence of militants in Thak-Gund Village of Sopore area, a joint team of army and SOG began a search operation.
They said as the forces were conducting the search operation, the hiding militants opened fire on them triggering an encounter.
Search operation was going on when the reports last came in.
