Two persons were injured after shot at by unknown gunmen at Trenz village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening.

Official sources said that unknown gunmen fired upon two persons namely Aijaz Ahmad Mir son of  Bashir Ahmad and Shiraz Ahmad Malik son of Nazir Ahmad both residents of Trenz.

“Aijaz 20 years, is a student, and his uncle Abdul Hamid Mir was killed by militants few years before for the allegations of being a source of government forces,” official sources said.

“Shiraz 22, a Tractor driver by profession and has no political affiliation but allegations of being a source of government forces,” sources said.

As per reports their mobile phones have also been snatched.

In the incident, both the persons suffered injuries and were immediately taken to district hospital Pulwama where from they were referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

SSP Shopian, Shailendra Mishra also confirmed the incident and said that investigations into the case have been launched.
