SRINAGAR: The Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) has constituted a five-member committee to examine records and prepare a detailed report on the execution of the “Pollution Abatement of River Devika and River Tawi at Udhampur Town” project under the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP).
The committee has been constituted following communications from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Udhampur-Reasi Branch, seeking records and information concerning the project.
The order, issued by the Superintending Engineer, Sewerage and Drainage Circle, Jammu, on August 17, 2026, directs the panel to examine the documents referred to by the ACB and submit a factual, comprehensive and point-wise report along with the relevant records.
Superintending Engineer Er. Rajiv Kumar has been appointed chairman of the committee, while Executive Engineer Er. Rajesh Kachroo, UEED Division, Udhampur, has been designated member secretary.
The other members are Executive Engineer Er. Rakesh Singh Manhas, UEED Division, Samba; Er. Sahil Kumar, Technical Officer to the Superintending Engineer, Sewerage and Drainage Circle, Jammu; and Er. Majid Hussain, Assistant Engineer, Sewerage Sub-Division-I.
The committee has been directed to submit its report within one week of the issuance of the order so that it can be examined at the appropriate level and subsequently furnished to the ACB within the stipulated timeframe.
The concerned officers and officials of the Sewerage and Drainage Division (West), Jammu, have been instructed to provide all necessary assistance to the committee and make available the required records and documents for examination.
The committee was constituted in response to ACB communications dated June 12 and June 17, 2026, cited in the order.
