SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday described the alleged conduct of a senior IAS officer as “unacceptable” and urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take up the matter with the Government of India and seek strict action.
Such erratic and disdainful conduct cannot be tolerated. CM @OmarAbdullah must immediately take up the matter with the Government of India and demand strict action against the officer who is already facing allegations of issuing illegal gun licences .

In a post on X, Mufti also referred to allegations against the officer concerning the issuance of illegal gun licences, calling for the matter to be pursued with the Centre.
The controversy arose after a video circulated on social media purportedly showing Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, a 2010-batch IAS officer serving as Administrative Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department, allegedly using abusive language against Beenish Wani, Assistant Director, Employment and Counselling, Ganderbal.
The incident reportedly occurred during a review meeting of the Mission Youth Upliftment and Vibrant Advancement (YUVA) initiative.
Mufti urged Omar Abdullah to intervene with the Centre and ensure that strict action was taken over the allegations.
