Reiterating that unity among resistance leadership is the need of the hour, Jammu and Kashmir’s pro-freedom leader and Chairperson Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah Monday said no movement can succeed without the unity in ideology and approach among its leadership.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have tasked the resistance leadership the responsibility of leading the nation to goal of freedom and we’re bound to maintain unity in every respect – to lead the nation and to resist every move aimed at jeopardizing its security and integrity,” Shah said in a statement to KNS.

He said conspiracies are on headway “to endanger the state’s geographical integrity, change demographical status and suppress and malign the pro-freedom leadership” for which “a united and strong resistance by pro-freedom leadership is crucially desirable.”

Coming down heavily on Indian rulers and their “state collaborators over starting a war against pro-freedom leadership of JK”, Shah said, “We’re the guardians of sacrifices of our martyrs and will continue to pursue their mission at any cost. As such, we’ve to consolidate our ranks and rise against oppression as a joint force.”

“History bears witness that though fighting a powerful tyrant rule is a trial for oppressed nations, it also brings home the good news that resistance by few united and dedicated groups can turn the tables around. India is time and again hatching conspiracies to quell the freedom movement of Kashmiris – in the name of settling the West Pakistan refugees, making separate homeland for Kashmiri Pandits and now by talking about settling the families of retired Indian Army officers here for which the state puppet regimes have always played their pro-active role,” Shah added.

The DFP Chairperson further said, “When forces in New Delhi are united in their conspiracies against us, why are we still divided. The time has come to show a combined confrontation to foil every wicked plan of New Delhi. Our struggle is strong and backed by UN Resolutions and Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s political, moral and diplomatic support has played unflinching role in highlighting our plight at global forums. Now, we should rise with full optimism and will succeed, God Willing.”

Meanwhile, Shah has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Imam and Khateeb of Dargah Hazratbal Moulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqi. In this connection, a party delegation led by general secretary Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari visited the deceased’s residence and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family besides prayed for peace to the departed soul.
