All India Forward Block state president had a close shave when unidentified gunmen fired upon his house on Tuesday night at Akhran area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The security guards of AIFB leader Asif Jeelani retaliated and fired some shots in air that created panic in the area.
Asif Jeelani told CNS that at around 11:45 on Tuesday night unidentified gunmen fired some rounds at his house. “The bullets hit the windowpanes of my room while my security guards too fired in the air which forced assailants to flee from the spot,” he said.
A police team from Mirbazar police chowki visited the spot soon after the incident and registered a case in this regard. Dy SP Shabir Ahmed said that police recovered some bullets from the spot during inspection. “We have registered a case and investigation is going on,” he said.
