USBRL Project Complete, Reasi Tunnel Work to End in a Week: GM Northern Railway

   

SRINAGAR: The much-hyped Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) has been fully completed, while work at the Reasi tunnel is set to be finished within a week, General Manager (GM) of Northern Railway, Ashok Kumar Verma, said on Tuesday.

He also mentioned that CSR inspections would be conducted in the next 15 days.

Verma confirmed that work on the tunnel at Reasi is at its final stage and is expected to be completed within a week.

“The CSR inspection will also be conducted in the next 15 days,” he said, adding that rail service from Katra to Srinagar will begin soon.

The General Manager of Northern Railway visited Anantnag Railway Station to review operations and assess infrastructure development on Tuesday.

During his visit, he said that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is now 100 percent complete.

Highlighting Anantnag’s importance as a tourist hub, he emphasised its potential to boost connectivity and tourism in the region.

He also announced that premium trains, such as the Vande Bharat Express, will soon operate in the Kashmir Valley, providing enhanced travel options for both locals and visitors alike—(KNO)
