Vehicle Seized After Alleged Stunt Driving on Budgam Road

   

SRINAGAR: The Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO), Budgam, has seized a vehicle and initiated legal proceedings after it was allegedly found performing dangerous stunts on a public road in the Haijan Brenwar area of the district.

The action was taken on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, after the authorities received information about the incident.

According to the Transport Department, the vehicle bearing registration number DL4CNB7704 was traced, seized and taken into custody by the ARTO Budgam for alleged violations of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Rules framed thereunder.

The department said that performing stunts on public roads poses a serious risk to the safety of the driver, passengers and other road users.

It reiterated that reckless driving and activities endangering public safety would not be tolerated and warned that strict legal action would be taken against violators in accordance with the law.

Officials said the seized vehicle has been kept in the custody of the ARTO Office, Budgam, and further legal proceedings have been initiated under the applicable provisions of law.

The ARTO Budgam appealed to motorists, particularly young drivers, to drive responsibly, strictly follow traffic regulations and refrain from performing dangerous stunts on public roads. It also urged the public to cooperate with the authorities in promoting road safety across the district.
