Police said the attached property is a double-storey residential house worth around Rs 30 lakh, located at Behrampora in Rafiabad. The property belongs to Gulzar Ahmad Zargar alias Sheeda, son of Ghulam Hassan Zargar, a resident of Behrampora.

According to police, the action was taken after a detailed enquiry and financial investigation revealed that the property was allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from illegal narcotics trade. The property was subsequently attached under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Officials said Sopore Police has so far attached eight properties belonging to alleged drug peddlers, collectively valued at over Rs 1.50 crore, during the ongoing anti-drug campaign.

Police said the action is aimed at dismantling the financial networks supporting the narcotics trade and reiterated that strict legal and financial measures will continue against those involved in drug trafficking.
