NN Vohra, Governor, Sunday visited several Relief Camps which have been set up in Kathua and Samba districts for the village people who have been affected by the cross border firing, an official statement said.
He visited the Camps established at Government Higher Secondary School and Government Girls High School at Hiranagar in district Kathua and at Chichi Mata Temple Complex in district Samba and interacted with the displaced people and heard their problems and grievances, the statement informed.
“The Governor was informed by the respective Deputy Commissioners that all necessary arrangements have been made for providing all required basic facilities for housing the displaced people. The relief extended to the affected families includes pucca shelter, beddings, food, medicines etc,” the statement said adding that the Governor appreciated the difficulties faced by them due to unprovoked firing from across the International Border and listened to their grievances.
Vohra asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made to minimize hardships of the affected people, in the continuing harsh weather.
