MUSAB IQBAL
The Nation “shook” the Nation “awaken” the Nation
Flashes the headline of recycled papers
As the nation lies only somewhere in Delhi
And the margins and the margins in the center
Is no more potential of a nation to “shake” you
Nation doesn’t wake for Soni Soris’ for Shabnams’
For Dalit woman in Deep South, and tribal girl
In deep jungles. Perhaps their aesthetic is not worth classifying.
No law for them, no sympathy ever thrown.
Nation doesn’t shake by their rapist armies, their brutal forces
Jumping on the dead bodies joyfully is national pride.
The dark consciousness of the bright nation doesn’t awaken
Until until until but selectively
Poor awaken nation!
