Police on Friday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik from his residence ahead of second death anniversary of slain Hizb commander Burhan Wani.
The arrest comes ahead of proposed shutdown programme issued by Joint resistance leadership on the Second death anniversary of slain commander.
The spokesman said that Malik was arrested from his Maisuma residence on today after Fajr prayers by a police party and lodged him in police station Maisuma.
Burhan was killed on July 8, at Bumdoora village of Kokernag in Islamabad district of south Kashmir.
