Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has been placed under house arrest on Thursday.

According to a JKLF statement, “a police party today after Magrib prayers cordoned his residence and has confined him to his room.”

Earlier Yasin Malik while expressing his deepest grief and sorrow over the mina accident in which Hundreds of hajj Pilgrims lost their lives, said that this accident has shaken us all and we pray to Allah almighty for heavenly abode to those who got martyrdom in this accident.

Malik also asked people to observe Eid with austerity and “remember those who have lost their dear ones during freedom struggle”. Malik said, “Eid-ul-Azha teaches us the lessons of sacrifice and steadfastness and we should follow the path shown by Hazrat Ibrahim (A S) while observing this day.”

Meanwhile, JKLF condemned the ongoing spree of arrests throughout Kashmir valley on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha and termed it as an “act of appeasement of RSS and other Hindu chauvinist forces by PDP rulers”.
