Hundreds of students at University of Kashmir Tuesday afternoon held protest demonstration against the killing of Zahid Rasool Bhat.
Zahid was attacked by a communal Hindu mob in
Udhampur in the intervening night of 09/10 October when he along with two other Kashmiris was on way home from New Delhi. He died in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi on Sunday. Kashmir and Chenab valley observed a complete shutdown on Monday while protests and clashes were witnessed in South Kashmir.
Soon after mid-day prayers, hundreds of students from the university departments assembled outside KU Jamia Masjid and raised pro-freedom slogans. The students demanded stern action against the culprits.
Holding placards, the students raised anti-India protests and later offered Nimaz-e-Jinaza in absentia for slain Zahid.
