By arresting eight burglars and recovering stolen goods worth lacs of rupees, police Saturday solved many burglary cases in the district Ganderbal.

Few incidences of burglaries were reported in Ganderbal in last months. A SIT headed by SHO Ganderbal Asif Iqbal was constituted to crack these burglaries.

After strenuous investigations, developing few leads, the police team arrested two burglars Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Shallabugh, Ganderbal and Adil Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Afzal resident of Gund Roshan.

On their instances stolen goods including Geysers, Inverter, Batteries, stabilizers, copper utensils, gas cylinders and other electronic items worth lacs of rupees were recovered from them, thereby solving case FIR number 31/15 under section 457,380 RPC of police Station Ganderbal. Meanwhile, the SIT cracked another burglary case FIR number 183/13 after arresting another burglar Hafiz-ul-lah Ganie son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Shallabugh who was involved in a burglary carried out by him in 2013.

Meanwhile, Police Station Safapora arrested five persons who were spotted by a night patrolling team while traveling in a Load carrier during night hours and recovered a Generator from their possession.

During investigation it surfaced that they had stolen it from a hotel in Srinagar. The arrested burglars were identified as Mudasir Ahmed Malik son of Ghulam Hassan Malik, Javed Ahmed Mir son of Gaffar Mir, Majaz Ahmed Mir son of Gaffar Mir, Imtiyaz Khan son of Ghulam Ahmad and Reyaz Khan son of Maqbool Khan, all residents of Bandipora. A case FIR number 03/15 under section 379 RPC was registered against them and further investigation has been taken up.
