The rope, which was used to hang Ajmal Kasab was meant for 2001 Parliament attack death row convict Afzal Guru, a report said on Thursday.

A report published in Hindustan Times said that the rope was woven by prisoners lodged in Buxar central jail located in Bihar.

As per the report published, there was no official demand for a specific rope to hang Kasab. However, as the rope supplied five years back in anticipation of execution of Afzal Guru was lying unused it was used to hang the 2008 Mumbai attacks perpetrator.

Five days before the fourth anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the lone captured Kasab was executed on Wednesday morning.
