A day after accusing Opposition PDP of receiving money from certain quarters in New Delhi to divide his party, National Conference President and Union Minster Dr. Faroooq Abdullah Wednesday claimed that some of his own party men were also involved in the conspiracy, saying “nobody would be allowed to weaken the party”.

“There are some elements within the party who are playing in the hands of our rivals,” Abdullah said in an interview to Radio Kashmir.

“These party men are trying to divide NC, and are directly involved in conspiracy”, asserted the senior Abdullah.
Meanwhile urging his colleague in the Union Cabinet and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad to refrain from making comments against the NC leaders, Farooq Abdullah said that he has convened a high level meeting of the party on December 8 to analyze the statements made by his brother and Party Additional General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal recently.

“We will be analyzing what Dr. Kamal had actually said, but I Urge Azad Sahab, to issue statements with caution,” Dr. Abdulllah said, when he was asked about the controversy that had apparently upset even his son and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Pertinently the statement had also sparked fresh controversy within the coalition, with nearly half a dozen Congress MLA’s threatening to resign if action was not taken against Kamal. Former Chief Minster Ghulam Nabi Azad had also demanded action against Kamal.
