The state government Thursday said the worst phase of weather is over and only water-logging problems persist in some places.
“There was some panic among the people because of the last year’s situation,” said Naeem Akhtar, Minister for Education. “But right now all the rivers are running much below the danger-level and there is normal activity across the State.”
There is no danger of flood, Akhtar said.
“This season is generally rainy here,” he continued, “and these problems remain in the months of March and April.”
The illegal constructions near the bunds, he said, which render them weak will be removed everywhere.
